Saying ‘No’ is a simple act of refusal that has often challenged the status quo. It has inspired feminists, artists and activists to create powerful political and societal change. Explore these stories through contemporary art, and question how far women’s equality has come and how far it still has to go.

The exhibition features a range of contemporary artists, including: Mercedes Azpilicueta, Petra Bauer, Fiona Jardine & SCOT-PEP, Josie KO, Ellen Lesperance, Arpita Shah, Sweatmother, Transmissions Collective & Pissed Off Trannies (POT), and Alberta Whittle. Artworks range in medium, from tapestry to ceramic, sculpture, photography, and film.
Contemporary works are shown alongside archival material of feminist refusal from the 1960s and 1970s, with material from the Franki Raffles Estate and the Paula Jennings archive.
The exhibition examines themes of domestic violence, sex work, queerphobia and racism, amongst others.
